I didn't want you to miss this!

Hi Reader!

There's a good chance you already know this, but I’m a total nerd for AI tools.

And if I had to pick my favorite tool for SEO specifically, it’d have to be Surfer SEO.

If you’re not familiar with Surfer, it’s a multi-faceted tool that can be used to optimize new and old blog posts by analyzing the competition and creating guidelines that spell out exactly what you need to do to optimize your chances of getting your post on page one of the Google search results.

I use its optimization features for every single blog post I write. If you want to learn more about my experience and results with it, you can check out my full review here.

But that’s not what this email is about.

This email is about Surfer AI, their AI writer that writes and optimizes entire blog posts for you.

Now, these “one-click” article writers are nothing new; there are tons of other tools that do this, too, like Koala and Content at Scale.

In fact, Surfer AI itself isn’t even that new; it was released earlier this year in May.

At this point, you might be like, "Corrie, if Surfer AI came out four months ago - why are you so late to this party? You've never mentioned it before!"

And the reason is, as much as I love Surfer, I had not been using their AI writer.

Because there's one big thing that was missing from Surfer AI, (as well as pretty much any one-click AI writers): E-E-A-T, or Experience. Expertise. Authority. Trustworthiness.

This is the framework Google uses to determine how unique, useful, and high-quality a piece of content is.

But AI tools on their own don’t have any of those things. All it’s doing is reading the internet and putting together articles based on information that is already out there.

It’s basically like an intern on its first day who has no real experience, only book-smarts.

Who do you want to learn things from: The book-smart person with no experience actual in the field, or someone whose been doing it for years and truly knows what they’re talking about?

It's this kind of hands-on experience and uniqueness that only you can bring to your content, which is why I’ve always been a proponent of a collaborative approach when using AI writers.

You'll find most of my YouTube tutorials are very much about training AI writers (mostly ChatGPT) to draw the information it's getting for content from you instead of its database.

The first iteration of Surfer AI didn’t leave any room for this kind of collaboration. I'd need to spend at least an hour editing the article afterward to adequately feather in my experience and expertise.

And so, for me, it was much faster to use ChatGPT.

However, Surfer AI has just released an upgraded version of Surfer AI that allows you to input custom information, both prior to creating the outline and within the outline itself!

This is the update I've been waiting for, and it could be a game-changer because now we have a tool that we can seed with information and expertise while still taking advantage of its one-click article generation and optimization.

Not only that, but the upgrade also came with two more new features: templates for writing specific types of blog posts, and Surfy, an additional AI writer that can quickly rework or expand on content within the content editor.

I've been testing these new features for the past two days to gauge their abilities, advantages, and limitations, and I am working on a video about it for my YouTube channel - but it's not going to be ready this week.

However, I didn't want to wait to tell you about it because there's even more news: Surfer has a killer promotion going on right now!

Here's the scoop:

Free AI Credits: Anyone who purchases a subscription or upgrades during the promotion will receive a one-off boost of free AI credits as follows:

  • Essential: 2 Free AI Credits (a value of $58)
  • Advanced: 4 Free AI Credits (a value of $116)
  • Max & Enterprise: 10 Free AI Credits! (a value of $290)

Discount AI Credits: All AI credits are $19 per credit, down from the usual $29.

This is a great opportunity to test out the new features yourself and crank some new content for your website.

Plus, the AI credits don't expire, so it's a good time to stock up. 😎

But the deal is only on until Oct 1st!

In the meantime, be on the lookout for my next video coming to a computer screen near you in the next week or so with my full review.

Cheers,
Corrie

P.S. If you don't have Surfer SEO yet, now is a really good time to check it out!

Hey Reader, Happy Saturday! There have been a lot of changes to the online landscape in recent months, thanks to Google and its (un)Helpful Content Update. That's why I've always been a big fan of diversifying my online presence - not just to supplement traffic and income but to build a true audience that is outside the influence of third parties. I'm talking about building your own community through an email list and/or membership. One of the best ways to do that in 2024 is through a writing...

Hey Reader, One of the most crucial things you can do as a content creator - whether you're a blogger, YouTuber, TikToker, or Medium Writer - is to grow and nurture an email list. Why? Because your email list is pretty much the only marketing asset you truly own. Google traffic can dry up overnight. Pinterest traffic can drop off a cliff without explanation. Heck, even Medium could decide to shut down its platform or arbitrarily decide to ban Call-to-Actions in their articles. And you...

Hi Reader! It's been a hot minute since I dropped by your inbox. With the arrival of the new year, there have been a lot of unforeseen changes, adventures, challenges, and projects! One such adventure was a recent vacation to the Caribbean (and long overdue - my first time traveling abroad since pre-COVID.) Since my return, I have been hard at work behind the scenes, having recently created a brand new niche blog that I'm very excited about! I noticed that, while I still love ChatGPT for a...
